Chatsworth House Wedding Band | The Distance

Last Saturday saw us making a short journey to Derbyshire. We were booked to play the wedding ceremony and drinks reception for Holly and David at Chatsworth House. Such a lavish stately home city really did add a touch of class to this wedding.

Bride And Groom Holly and David had chosen a beautiful venue with its arty decor to hold their ceremony and drinks reception - at which we had the pleasure of playing. They had chosen three songs for us to play during the ceremony the first being 'Days like this' by Van Morrison, 'I Do' by ABBA and 'Bring me sunshine' - the theme from the classic Morecambe And Wise Show - whilst the couple walked back down the aisle, and their guests left the room. Due to a bottleneck at the doorway, this took some time. What should have been a two minute song was strung out to 4-5 minutes. This was greatly amusing for the one gentlemen at the back of the line waiting patiently to leave.

We also had the pleasure to seeing a few friendly faces in the crowd, Ginny and David Crutchley!

Ginny had booked us a year ago for her eldest daughter, Freya's Tipi wedding in Sheffield, and again for her youngest daughter's, Sophie's wedding back last month. As she has now run out of daughters getting married, to see us play again, she mentioned The Distance to Holly when talking about acoustic wedding entertainment (We missed you too, Ginny!) ;)

The flower girls were as sweet as ever in their beautiful dresses and flower hairstyles.. They were eager to have a good time so, we decided to start our set with a few songs for the younger ones. 'I Wanna Be Like You' being one of their favourites (see photo below).

We played for around 2 hours and to as we were booked to play background music, we had alot of people dancing and having a good singalong! Everyone was in great spirits.

Thanks to the beautiful couple, Holly & David and Ginny Crutchley for recommending us!

Congratulations on raising over £1,500 in gift donations for Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice!
