Live Ceremony Music

Your Wedding Ceremony will be one of the most memorable moments of your life, so more and more people are opting to have a live band or duo to provide the music. We offer a great package for your live ceremony music, consisting of the perfect blend of gentle background music during the arrival of your guests, all the way through the arrival of the bride and signing of the register, to the final moments of the ceremony as the guests are leaving.

We'll take you through step by step and offer some examples of great songs to add a personal touch to this proud moment...

Awaiting The Arrival Of The Bride

As your guests arrive and are seated to await the bride (and watch the groom sweat), we'll play two or three songs from our repertoire. Our acoustic covers go down really well and past choices have included You Got The Love by Florence And The Machine, Dear Future Husband by Meghan Trainor and Sleeping At Last's arrangement of 500 Miles by the Proclaimers, originally recorded for the soundtrack to Grey's Anatomy.

The Arrival Of The Bride

As you walk down the aisle, the song that we perform should be the perfect for your big moment, so most people opt for something that's appropriate to the moment, like Marry You by Bruno Mars, or Marry Me by Train. Alternatively you could go for something entirely personal to you, as Holly did recently when she asked us to learn a song she had loved since her childhood: Bring Me Sunshine from The Morecambe And Wise show. What a great and unusual choice for a wedding ceremony!

The Exchanging Of Rings

NO! This is a sacred moment and we won't detract from it... don't even ask! ;)

The Signing Of The Register

Now we're talking... this point in the proceedings is a great place for us to fill the silence with acoustic music. It usually doesn't take longer than a single song, and if it's up to us we'll go for something pretty like How Long Will I Love You by Ellie Goulding or All Of Me by John Legend.

The Recessional

This is just a posh word for the end of the ceremony, as your guests applaud you back up the aisle. We should perform something upbeat and positive for your guests as they celebrate your marriage, so a few great choices might include Walking On Sunshine by Katrina And The Waves, Dreamlover by Bobby Darin or Hey Ho by The Lumineers (this can also works really well as a first dance – see our Videos page for the proof!)

As your guests leave, they'll need some music to walk out to, so we'll cover their retreat with something equally upbeat and memorable. If they're on their way to a Champagne Reception, the chances are we've already set up our PA to provide the music for that, too. Have a look at our Champagne Reception Music page to see how we can provide fantastic acoustic music during your first drink of the day (unless you're the groom, in which case it's your second, but we promise not to tell your bride)!
